We seem to have visited Long Island more often than any other area outside of NYC. Not sure if that’s cause of the high rate of flava coming out of this region or if it’s just a coincidence – i’m guessing the former.
The journey began in 2010 with one of our proudest moments – the Prince Paul produced ‘Horror City 95 Demos’. Other material from this set of demos was later re-used on Paul’s classic concept album ‘Prince Among Thieves’.
We followed on in 2012 and then again in 2013 with Strong Island representatives, the original J.V.C.F.O.R.C.E.
This project directly led on to two more projects with J.V.C.F.O.R.C.E member Curt Cazal – first the -Q-Ball & Curt Cazal ‘Makin Moves 94 EP’ in 2013.
And then from the vaults of Curt Cazal came the incredible Keith Murray 1992 Demos!!!
In 2014 we travelled up the LIE again to visit DJ Stitches & Eternal Intellect for The 5PLIT EP Series Vol 1.
We went back in 2015 for The Chosen Few feat De La Soul – Time Capsule:The Unreleased 1991 Demos EP.
And again in 2015 for the super rare Too Poetic – Droppin Signal 1989 EP
Again in 2016 with a huge project from the original hip hop band for the Stetsasonic – People in the Neighborhood 1991-1994 EP.
The Stetsasonic directly led on to the AMAZING Daddy-O presents Junior Mafia/Freestyle Fellowship EP which featured lost material from the one and only Biggie Smalls. This was our illest seller crashing the website 3 times and selling out all 500 copies in less than 3 minutes.
Later that year we dropped the Class A Felony – Class A Felony [2xLP] which featured beats from Mark 45 King and Diamond D.
In 2017 we went back up the LIE for one of our fav releases on the label, material from Too Poetic’s debut group Brothers G.R.Y.M. and the superb ‘Ghetto Repaired Young Minds EP’.
And we came full circle in 2017 with a dope new 7″ from Horror City
And here we are again back 1nce again in Strong Island with the crazy nice Horror City – 6th Boro LP
